Goodly Words

What is it about Law and Grace?

The moment you see what the law is, you cannot have any doubt that it must effectually exclude man from God's presence forever....The trial is over, the sentence is given, and that is the issue of the law — its foreseen and designed issue — every mouth stopped, and man guilty.

Words of Wisdom

I look upon all the world as my parish; thus far I mean, that, in whatever part of it I am, I judge it meet, right, and my bounden duty to declare unto all that are willing to hear, the glad tidings of salvation.
This is the work which I know God has called me to; and sure I am that His blessing attends it. Great encouragement have I therefore, to be faithful in fulfilling the work He has given me to do. His servant I am, and, as such, am employed according to the plain direction of His Word.

Our Assembly Ministry
Each Lord’s Day we meet as a local assembly in keeping with the teaching and practice of the New Testament Church. The Bible teaches that the early Christians met regularly to grow in and proclaim their faith (Acts 2:42). For example, there was a need for the following:
  • Breaking of Bread (Lord’s Supper). The believers gathered weekly on the first day of the week to remember the Lord’s death (Acts 20:7). We do likewise. This is also an opportunity for giving (1 Cor 16:2).
  • Reading and teaching Scripture. There are various meetings during which we read and study the Bible (2 Tim 2:15) and preach the word of faith, the gospel (Rom 10:8; 1 Cor 1:17; 9:16).
  • Prayer. We believe that God works mightily through the Holy Spirit when Christians pray faithfully and unceasingly (1 Thes 5:17). Prayer is the life and power of the assembly of believers when this happens in the Spirit (Eph 6:18). Various times are set aside for corporate prayer.
  • Fellowship. The early believers devoted themselves to fellowship (Acts 2:42). Our partnership and participation in the assembly and various works of service is the expression of being called into fellowship with Christ (1 Cor 1:9), with the Spirit (Ph 2:1) and having fellowship one with another (1 Jn 1:7).
We have weekly services that serve these purposes. Look under "what's happening."
